For performance and durability it is hard to match Carbo-Cam® cleats by Harken®. This micro-sized model works with a range of lines sizes from 1/8 inch (3mm) up to 1/4 inch (6mm). It features three rows of Delrin® ball bearings, which allow the V-shape jaws to open and close smoothly under high loads. Lines are engaged with simple downward pressure. There is no need to pull highly loaded lines through the jaws to ease sheets or halyards — just flick up and the cleat will release instantly. Harken cleats are the only cleats that engage under maximum line tension.
The Carbo-Cam protective tooth design ensures that the same number of teeth grip the line regardless of its diameter. This special geometry feature holds all types of line — small, hard, high-tech, and soft large lines — with equal force. It allows for the use of rounded teeth that do not damage lines, squeezing them rather than cutting into the lines. The rounded, carbon-matrix jaws are UV-stabilized with carbon-black for the ultimate lightweight, wear-resistant cleat.
