DIY round pillow
The first step to a DIY round pillow is selecting your pillow form and desired fabric. If you don’t have a round pillow form or can’t find one, don’t worry! We’ll show you our trick for turning a square pillow form into a round pillow. The edges of a round pillow won’t be exactly perfect (they’ll be a little puckered), but the ruffles will cleverly hide any imperfections in the round pillow shape. You can use any indoor or outdoor fabric that fits your needs.
The ruffled edge adds a stylish touch to your round pillow. It also hides any imperfections in the pillow’s shape. The trick to making full, nice-looking ruffles is to cut your ruffle strip three times the circumference of your pillow. It may require joining strips together to achieve the length you need for your ruffle strip. We’ll show you our quick way to create ruffled pleats, but if you want your ruffles symmetrically spaced you can measure and fold your fabric strip at the specific marks.
Finally, we add a center button as the finishing touch on our round pillow. We used the same fabric for the button as the ruffle. Adding a button on each side of your pillow is easy with a button form.
