This is a replacement Retaining Ring Cap Spring for Sailrite^® Ultrafeed^®, Leatherwork^®, Stitch Master^® and Yachtsman Sewing Machines.

The retaining ring cap spring is a plate that runs across the top of the shuttle retainer ring in your Ultrafeed, Leatherwork, Stitch Master or Yachtsman Sewing Machine. This piece is needed for the machine to properly sew in reverse. From time to time, if sewing with a bent needle, the needle can hit the edge of the opening on the retaining ring cap spring, causing a burr. These burrs can create skipped stitches and broken threads, especially when sewing in reverse. The burrs can often be smoothed up to continue sewing, but we recommend having spare retaining ring cap springs in your sewing kit in case of serious damage. Luckily, these parts are affordable and easy to replace—they secure with two small screws.
