The Sailrite® Leather Skiving Knife is a quality, handmade skiving knife for your leather workshop. The handle is made from desert ironwood and contours to the hand for comfortable use. Only one side of the blade is sharpened, meaning this is a right-hand-only knife. The blade gradually thins from end to top, making it more durable and easy to sharpen.

The blade is D53 steel. D53 is an improvement over D2 steel. It has a higher hardness than D2 after heat treatment. With twice the toughness and superior wear resistance, this knife has the durability to last for years. It produces razor sharp cuts and will hold its edge very well; it won’t dull as quickly as inferior skiing knives on the market.
