This is a double-sided Mylar/Kevlar^® basting tape that is specially designed to hold film-on-film laminates and monofilm together and reinforce sewn seams. This acrylic adhesive has a cloth matrix that reinforces/stabilizes the stitches to prevent them from cutting the material.

Basting Tape Sewing Tips:

Basting tapes are left permanently in place. You can sew over this tape, but because the adhesive is so aggressive, sewing can be a challenge and could result in skipped stitches. Your needle will also likely need frequent cleaning. Intermittently clean the needle with rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab or an adhesive remover. Running your needle through a bar of Ivory soap can also prevent buildup.
