Custom Dopp Kit — Easy DIY Project

A Dopp kit, also known as a toiletry bag, is a small, compact bag and the perfect travel companion. It’s great for keeping your toiletries and essentials organized when you’re on the go. And did you know it’s easy to sew your own? In our quick video tutorial, we’ll teach you how to make a Dopp kit using waxed canvas and Cordura® fabric. First, let’s talk about the fabrics we used for our Dopp kit DIY. We chose DuraWax™ Waxed Canvas with a Cordura® lining. The waxed canvas gives the bag a classic, vintage look, and the Cordura lining makes the bag easy to clean and water resistant on the inside.

To give our Dopp kit a high-end look, we added leather accents to the bag. A leather pull tab on the zipper slider, a leather handle on one end and a leather tab. Sailrite leather panels make adding leather accents to your DIY projects an economical upgrade! Our panels are available in a variety of sizes and hide thicknesses. They’re a great way to practice your leather skills or experiment with leatherworking if you’re thinking about getting into the craft.
