How to Install Zipper Slider 2

In the video, we’ll show you two ways to install a zipper pull. The first installation method is to use a handy Zipper Jig tool. A Zipper Jig is like the third hand you need when installing zipper sliders. It clamps to the edge of a worktable and works with zipper sizes #2.5 to #10. If you are a canvasworker or an upholsterer who sews a lot of cushions, the speed and ease of using this tool could be a big benefit to your workshop.

The second method we’ll show you is a no-tool method that works just as effectively, though it’s a little more time-consuming. Using a pair of scissors, you’ll taper the zipper tape edges to create a “point” shape where the teeth begin. Then install the slider as usual. Tapering the zipper tape makes it easier to guide the zipper pull onto the zipper chain.
