How to Upholster an RV Dinette Backrest Frame
X-HT-300595
To prep our backrest frame, first we used an adhesive remover to remove any grease or dirt on the frame. We highly recommend this step so that the bonding adhesive has a clean surface to adhere the foam to. Next, we cut the 1/2" sew foam that was used to add some padding and fullness to the backrest. Adding a layer of sew foam adds a softer, rounded look to the backrest and helps to smooth out any unevenness.
We’re using the same vinyl upholstery fabric for the backrest and for the cushions on our RV dinette benches. EverSoft™ Indoor/Outdoor Upholstery Vinyl is a great choice for RV and auto upholstery, as well as marine cushions and upholstery, patio cushions, home seating applications and more. This four-way stretch vinyl is very easy to contour and shape during upholstery work. It’s waterproof, easy to clean and highly abrasion resistant — very important qualities to look for in RV upholstery fabric.
