This adapter for the HandyPress® adapts diamond stitching chisels with appropriate threads (8mm x 1.25, which is mostly used with Chinese-made tools) for use in the HandyPress. It is often also necessary for use with the upper dies of many Chinese-made dies. These tend to be of lesser quality but also are inexpensive. The better tools and dies use 8mm x 1 threads and these are common among our offering of chisels. The M8-1 adapter (#126862) is also gold in color to match the standard adapters that come with the HandyPress.

The die adapter comes with a rubber O-ring (and two spares). Push the O-ring onto the threaded shaft of the upper die/chisel of the non-Sailrite adapter you’ll be using. Then thread it into the HandyPress® Stitching Chisel & Die Adapter. Tighten it securely. Then slide the adapter into the HandyPress main vertical shaft inner diameter and secure with the thumbscrew. For the stitching chisel, rotate the adapter to set your pricking tines at the desired angle. Follow the instructions in the HandyPress guidebook to set the tool for optimal results.
