Left Zipper Foot

The Left Zipper Foot is crucial for installing zippers and boltrope. The right toe of the presser foot is removed, allowing you to sew extremely close to the zipper teeth and boltrope. The feeding surface of this zipper foot has the same teeth as the Sawtooth foot that came with your Ultrafeed to help it feed thick and slick applications or walk over thickness transitions. The bulk of your material is outside of the sewing machine’s arm, which makes it easy to sew large canvaswork and sails. Pair it with the Sawtooth Feed Dog that came with your LSZ.

1" Swing-Away Binder

The 1" Swing-Away Binder is a must-have for canvasworkers. Skip hemming and finish edges of awnings, dodgers, biminis, bags and more with this essential machine attachment. The binder automatically guides and folds binding tape into place over the fabric edge as you sew. After installing your binding, swing the binder out of the way and continue sewing — no need to remove it.

5-1/2" Magnetic Sewing Guide

The Deluxe 5-1/2" Magnetic Sewing Guide is the easiest, most efficient way to keep your seams straight. The aggressive holding power of the high-strength magnets keeps the guide firmly in place while sewing even heavy and thick assemblies. The unique construction and raised rubber pads won’t scratch your Ultrafeed the way a metal sewing guide might. Ideal uses include stitching prefolded hems and creating the first stitch of a flat felled seam. Turn the guide sideways when sewing around corners or when a shorter surface is needed.

3/8" Basting Tapes

Double-sided adhesive basting tape is the easiest and fastest way to bond material layers together before sewing. Basting prior to sewing prevents feeding problems and provides more accurate, even hems and water-resistant seams. Basting tapes are left permanently in place and are invisible. 3/8-inch width is ideal for 1/2-inch hems, the standard hem width, to minimize any exposed tape after hemming. Included are two types of basting tape: one for sewing canvas and one for sewing sail material, nylon and vinyl.

Basic Sewing Notions

This assortment of polyester thread and sewing machine needles is more than enough to get you started on your canvaswork and sailmaking journey. Whether you’re a new DIYer or have been sewing for years, you can never have enough needles and thread in your workroom. Round/Sharp Point needles are your go-to for canvaswork, and SD1 needles are optimized for sewing dense fabric including heavy sailcloth. The Deluxe Seam Ripper makes quick work of ripping out stitches and opening a finished zipper assembly.
