HandyPress® Sliding Backstop for Use With Lower Dies

Reasons Why the Sliding Backstop Upgrade Is for You:

The large central notch accommodates lower dies and adapters for hardware installation. The workbench on either side of the notch gives you a small working area. But the primary feature is the backstop surface, which allows you to support and position your work.

The Backstop Extender (the white piece) interlocks over the workbench. This piece solves for a situation where you can’t move the Workbench far enough forward and still be able to lock it in place. Resultingly, it reduces how far back your project rests on the Workbench, allowing you to cut holes in fabric with hole cutters and puncture patterns with stitching chisels very close to the edge of your project. It also keeps your material aligned for consistent punches and cuts from the material edge. The Backstop Extender adds extra height to the backstop’s vertical back edge when working with tall lower dies.

To Install: Slide the backstop onto the HandyPress base plate. Adjust the backstop's front-to-back alignment to set the correct depth for installation in your material assembly. Install the Backstop Extender as needed. Once alignment is set, secure the backstop to the tool base with the included thumbscrew. Finally, insert your adapter or die for the intended task.
